Always keeping a careful eye on tradition while ever ready to accept innovation, the Tommasi family has planted a vineyard composed entirely of Merlot, in the heart of its newest fields in the Valpolicella Classica region. Called "Le Prunee", its vines have been subjected to close planting and the severest pruning, resulting in an extremely low yield of extraordinary richness.

"Decadent, supple, impressive. Le Prunee is a vineyard in the Valpolicella region of Veneto, which is planted solely to the Merlot grape. It is a consistently impressive wine. Ripe cherries and purple berries are layered with dried violets, baking spices and chocolate. It is smooth and supple on the tongue with leather, cocoa, tobacco, prune, and juicy grape-y flavours atop espresso. Wonderful structure and acidic balance."
